It takes a community to present a Festival!
Every October, WordFest brings 70+ writers together with 14,000 readers for 6 days of dynamic literary programming and youth education. This excitement is extended throughout the year through special events and outreach initiatives. This would not be possible without the support of dedicated sponsors, individuals and public and private sector funders.
Access to the arts is a clear marker of a healthy and vibrant community. A dedicated French-language program, Festival des mots, and youth education program, First Calgary Financial Book Rapport help support inclusivity, as do free events, multi-lingual programming and community partnerships.
By sharing the power of words with readers of all ages and backgrounds, WordFest directly contributes to the vitality of Calgary, Banff and the Bow Valley.
