Peter Behrens (CAN) presents his latest novel The O’Briens at WordFest. Originally from Montreal, Behrens’ first novel The Law of Dreams won the Governor General’s Literary Award in 2006 and has been published in nine languages. Behrens has also written several successful screenplays such as Cadillac Girls as well as the film adaptation of his book, Night Driving. His stories and essays have appeared in The Atlantic Monthly, Tin House, Brick, Best Canadian Stories, Best Canadian Essays and many anthologies. He has held a Wallace Stegner Fellowship in Creative Writing at Stanford University and was a Fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center. |

Lucie Bergeron (CAN) est une auteure québécoise qui a écrit plus de trente romans jeunesse. Elle a à son palmarès près de mille-cinq-cents rencontres dans les écoles et bibliothèques du Canada. Ses romans proposent des thèmes aussi essentiels que le courage, la confiance en soi, la persévérance et l’amitié. Ses histoires nous promènent de l’Inde moderne au monde imaginaire des châteaux suspendus. Elle est l’auteure de trois séries à succès qu’elle présentera lors du WordFest. Les aventures d’Abel et Léo, pleines d’humour, lient un garçon et son grand-père au cours de voyages et de péripéties en tous genres. Dans un univers plus fantastique, Dagmaëlle suit une orpheline à la recherche de son frère disparu et la série Solo, pour les plus petits, met en scène un chaton amusant en quête d’un foyer accueillant.
Lucie Bergeron (CAN) is a Québécois author who has written over 30 novels for youth and children. She has participated in 1500 school and library events across Canada. Her novels explore essential themes such as courage, self-confidence, perseverance and friendship. Her stories take the reader on adventures from modern India to the fantastical world of suspended castles. She is the author of three successful series that she will be presenting at WordFest. The Abel & Léo series is full of humour, bringing together a boy and his grandfather in travel and adventures. The Dagmaëlle series follows a girl who is searching for her lost brother. The children’s’ series, Solo, follows a playful kitten trying to find its way home. |

Elle est l’auteur de la série de romans Enigmae.com, largement imprégnée d’histoire et de sciences. enigmae.com est un site web créé par les héros de cette série et est dédié aux mystères, scandales et aux découvertes insolites. Son autre série, Pacific Express, est une série d’aventures qui se déroule en Alberta, dans les Rocheuses. Les lecteurs pourront y suivre la construction du premier chemin de fer transcontinental du Canada et la réalité des travailleurs chinois immigrés qui ont fuit la pauvreté et la guerre de leur pays.

Édith Bourget (CAN) est une écrivaine, peintre, voyageuse du monde et critique littéraire pour la revue Lurelu. Elle est l’auteure de dix livres jeunesse, dont les recueils de poèmes finalistes aux Prix littéraires du Gouverneur général Les saisons d’Henri et Autour de Gabrielle, ce dernier ayant aussi reçu le Prix France-Acadie. Édith Bourget vit au Nouveau-Brunswick, mais ses livres ont été présentés un peu partout au Canada et à plusieurs endroits en Europe, particulièrement en Belgique, en France et en Suisse. Durant le WordFest, elle présentera ses recueils de poèmes Autour de Gabrielle et Poèmes des villes/Poèmes des champs.
Édith Bourget (CAN) is a writer, painter, world traveler and a literary critic for Lurelu, a literary journal for children and adolescents. She is the author of 10 books for young adults, including the collection of poems Les saisons d’Henri and Autour de Gabrielle, which were both finalists for the Governor General’s Literary Award. The last one is a recipient of the France-Acadia Prize. While based in New Brunswick, her literary work is popular across Canada and in Europe; specifically Belgium, France and Switzerland.
