Anne Green

Anne Green has over 30 years of professional experience in a broad range of areas in the cultural sector and is the founding Director of WordFest, one of North America’s premier literary festivals.

While leading WordFest, Green brought almost 400 different writers to Calgary and Banff from the national and international stages. She also utilized the Festival to promote Alberta talent across Canada and around the world. During her tenure at WordFest she received the Calgary Award for Community Achievement, Arts and the Rozsa Award for Excellence in Arts Management.

After 15 years of running the Festival, Green stepped down in 2010 to spend more time with her family and explore new artistic endeavours.

Green has always had a keen interest in exploring new ways of presenting the written and spoken word and creating presentations that bring a variety of arts disciplines together. The award named for her is in recognition of this fact.
