Shauna Singh Baldwin (CAN) was born in Montreal and grew up in India. She is the author of What the Body Remembers which was awarded the 2000 Commonwealth Writer’s Prize for Best Book in the Canada region, and The Tiger Claw, nominated for the Scotiabank Giller Prize. Her short fiction, poetry and essays have been published in literary magazines in North America and India. Her newest novel The Selector of Soulsbrings together two Indian women—a Hindu midwife and an abused Catholic wife—who work together to bring justice and equality to their village with a new health clinic.
