Deborah Willis’s first book, Vanishing and Other Stories, was published in 2009 and nominated for a Governor General’s Award and named aGlobe and Mail Best Book. Her new collection, The Dark and Other Love Stories, is forthcoming from Penguin in spring 2016. Her fiction has appeared in The Walrus, The Virginia Quarterly, and Zoetrope, and will be published in The Iowa Review and Lucky Peach. She is from Calgary and is excited that the Noir on Eighth project has given her the chance to learn about—and to invent—the city’s history.
