Biography

Anne Simpson (CAN) is the author of four books of poetry, including Light Falls Through You, winner of the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award and the Atlantic Poetry Prize; Loop, winner of the Griffin Poetry Prize; and Quick, winner of the Pat Lowther Memorial Award. She is also the author of two novels, Canterbury Beach and, most recently, Falling, winner of the Dartmouth Book Award for Fiction. In 1997 her short story “Dreaming Snow” received the Journey Prize and in 1999 she was awarded the Bliss Carman Poetry Award. Simpson lives in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. She presents Is, a stunning new book of poems.
