Biography

Linda Grant (UK) is a novelist and journalist. She received the Orange Prize for Fiction in 2000 and the Lettre Ulysses Prize for Literary Reportage in 2006. Her work has appeared in the Guardian, Telegraph and Vogue. Her novel, The Clothes on Their Backs was shortlisted for the 2008 Man Booker Prize. She won the David Higham First Novel Prize and was shortlisted for the Guardian Fiction Prize for her debut, The Cast Iron Shore. Her latest novel is We Had It So Good, a story that spans 40 years and tells the story of a young British couple who suddenly find their generation to be living in a middle-class fool’s paradise.  WordFest alumna 2002
